Why polyester, and not cotton

Cotton looks like the premium choice on a label, but on a pet it's the wrong tool. It soaks up drool, rain and garden puddles, stays damp against fur, and sags out of shape the moment it gets heavy. A hat that has gone limp isn't cute, and a damp hat sitting on a cat isn't comfortable either.

The print is dyed into the fabric rather than pressed on top, so it won't peel, crack or flake away at the fold lines the way a heat-transferred pattern does.

Topstitched brim The brim is stitched around its full edge rather than glued, so the circle holds its shape instead of curling upward after a few wears — the first thing to go wrong on a cheap novelty hat.
Reinforced drawstring channel The drawstring runs through a stitched channel around the brim rather than a single loose loop, so it distributes tension evenly instead of pulling out at one point.
Toggle that holds The drawstring toggle grips where you set it, so the fit stays put through a walk instead of slowly working loose.
